The Brothers Four completed a 5-week tour that included 17 concerts in Japan as well as one in Hong Kong before finishing up with a couple of shows on board a cruise ship, the Asuka II, between Ketchikan and Juneau.
It was 50 years ago this summer that I made my first trip to Japan as a member of The Brothers Four. In 1969 at twenty-two there was no way to anticipate all the twists and turns or to imagine that I would be writing this while on yet another tour of this amazing country.
“Life is what happens to you when you’re making other plans .” Those words may never have rung more true for me than they did on June 8th this year when I unexpectedly had quadruple bypass open heart surgery. While all signs point to a complete recovery, I have dropped everything to concentrate on healing.
Last month’s Songs and Stories from Home talked mostly about where we are going and how we hope to get there. This month the Songs and Stories will explore the power of song and story in our lives and over a lifetime.
