Winners and Losers

In the early 70's I was working with Bob Dylan's brother, David Zimmerman. He challenged me to write a song that mirrored my beliefs, that let people know who I was. The result was "The Winners and the Losers." It was not until McCoy and I got a record deal in the early 1980's that the song was finally recorded. It became the final song on the "Between Friends" album. A statement years in the making that I continue to live and stand by today.

As the chorus states, "There's not too much between the winners and the losers/It's a fine line between the beggars and the choosers/Not far from being born to dying/It's a long way from anywhere once you give up trying."
