Thanks to my dad's interest in politics I had a chance to meet John Kennedy when he was running for President. A few months later I was mesmerized by JFK's inaugural address. When I became eligible to vote in the Spring of 1968 I wanted my first vote for President to be for Robert Kennedy.
It was something to fly into LA the day Robert Kennedy died as one of four guys representing the University of Washington on a national TV show, Your All American College Show. My friends and I went to the Ambassador Hotel and stood in the kitchen area where Kennedy had been shot a few days before.
Then a few months later I flew back to LA where I made a record as a member of the Brothers Four. One of the songs on that record was "Abraham, Martin, and John."
