One of the things that has become clearer to me over the years is that – like it or not, know it or not – we are not alone. We are all in this together. We are somehow connected to each other and all living things – often in ways that we may not be aware of and cannot easily define or explain. Buckminster Fuller explained that we all share passage on Spaceship Earth. We are also joined or connected to those who have come before us and those who will follow after us. It felt important to share such thoughts at the Graduation Celebration. One of the ways of demonstrating such a connection that evening was to sing once again with a group I sang with in college in the 60’s. It is the first time the four of us have sung together publicly in more than 50 years. It was great fun and quite emotional.
We shared two songs from our college repertoire, “Leavin’ on a Jet Plane,” and “The Sounds of Silence.”
