Got To Do Something It’s Saturday Night

In my 20’s it was so important to be doing something on Saturday night. This song was inspired by that need and the movie Marty that won Ernest Borgnine an Academy Award®.
The song has a bittersweet quality along with some humor. There were several publishers interested in this song as well as “Some Dreams.”
Included here is a copy of the contract I signed with Tree International for that song, a page of their staff writing contract (complete with misspelled name) and my letter in response asking if we could continue to work together without a contract. It didn’t take me long to find out that was not how things worked.
