The Monday After Thanksgiving
Besides 50 years of friendship and musical partnership this fall McCoy and I will be celebrating 20 years of finding a new place, a new depth of friendship that began that Monday after Thanksgiving in 1995.
We had known each other for more than thirty years when we met that night. It may have been the first time we told each other out loud that we loved each other. For the next eighteen months we talked every day. A lot of the conversations were only a few minutes long. We were checking in mostly. Every conversation ended with “I love you.” They still do.
For the last twenty years we’ve gotten together for dinner the Monday after Thanksgiving. It’s our night. We talk about the year that was and the one that’s about to begin. We laugh. Sometimes we cry. Mostly we’re just "Thankful" that in some significant ways we've found "The Missing Peace."
Those two titles, "Thankful" and "The Missing Peace" are the videos here. Although it is not the holidays there is a holiday introduction.
