Woke Up This Morning With My Mind Stayed on Freedom

Civil Rights Icon Congressman John Lewis said that a Movement without music is like a bird without wings. The music of the Civil Rights Movement speaks (and sings) powerfully to that idea. "Woke Up This Morning With My Mind Stayed on Freedom" is a song that, like so many others, has its roots in the church. There is a joy in this song that awakens every time I sing it.
