Three songs for Pat Sands

Mark & McCoy

Pat Sands sudden death on Father's Day in 1983 remains one of the saddest days of my life. At 35 years old he was too young. He was too alive. He had too much to live for. He had finally found what he was meant to do with his life. And then he was gone. In a concert the week before Sands' death McCoy and I sang a song I wrote for him. By September of 1984 I had written two more songs for Sands and created a trilogy that McCoy and I sang in concert as pictures of Pat were projected behind us. One of the new songs, Love Has Survived, was later recorded by The Duttons who changed the it to Love Will Survive. Included in this Post is a recording of the three songs from the September 1984 (complete with mistakes and forgotten words) Also included is the Duttons version of Love Will Survive from their One Step Ahead album. http://www.theduttons.com/ Check out their website.
