Campfire Chronicle #4 "A Folksinger" is now available on YouTube

Solo

We live in a world where we like to label things. Except for a few years in the late 50’s and early 60’s it wasn’t necessarily a good thing to be labeled a folk singer. As I look at my career or careers as a member of The Brothers Four, solo artist, with McCoy, and as a songwriter the truth is that I am and always have been a folk singer. The truth also is that I’ve been singing and writing folk songs for over fifty years so in a culture that doesn’t like to talk about getting old I’m also old.
Being a folksinger and an elder might be seen as having two strikes against me. I guess by naming it and claiming it I’m looking at it like I’m still in there swinging (and singing.) And enjoying it more than ever.
