A couple of recordings finally get heard...
Here are a couple of my songs that were recorded in the late 80’s but never released by hopeful new artists that some friends I’d made in Nashville were planning to work with and develop. Their dream was to go from being a small publishing company to a full service musical organization producing and promoting new artists using and developing a stable of songwriters. My understanding at the time was that I was going to be one of their more important songwriters. (They told me that I was the best songwriter in Nashville who had not had a song recorded.)
When I listen to the recordings 25 years later it’s clear they had the expertise and I they had the experience. All they needed was the investment capital to fund their dreams. When I visited Nashville during those years their money was going to be in place “any day now.”
Ultimately the money never arrived and those dreams finally died. For me it meant I was “back on the street” with a satchel full of songs trying to get someone to pick up the phone or answer the door and when they did hopefully get them to listen and if they did hopefully have them hear something that they would want to make part of their dreams.
