Graduation Celebration Part Nine - The Graduation Ceremony

After lots of singing and talking we arrive at the moment of receiving my diploma. It was my good fortune and delight to be presented the degree by two of my favorite people, Jody Nyquist and David Domke. Jody and I have been friends for more than 55 years. I met David after becoming part of the Civil Rights Pilgrimages in 2014. The original plan was to receive my diploma at the formal graduation celebration for students of the Department of Communication. Because The Brothers Four were going to be performing in Japan at the time it was not possible. While it would have been a kick to be part of a formal graduation celebration there was – is – something special and amazing about what transpired. I will forever be grateful for Jody and David for making this special moment even more meaningful.
