Neighbors and Friends
As I explain in the Campfire Chronicle I was lucky to meet great people when I lived in LA. Among them was my downstairs neighbor, Vera McLerie. She was always inviting me for tea and a piece of her homemade cake. When I moved back to Seattle she gave me a Bible of hers with a note that read “I thought you might enjoy a memento from your Fairy Godmother.” She was right. I have kept it in my office to this day.
My next-door neighbors, The Byers Boys have remained special friends. I had a chance to meet their parents while I was in LA. Their mother is still alive and very funny. The Boys and I have been friends now for more than thirty-five years.
Where DOES the time go?
The song included in this blog is one I wrote in LA called “Room of My Own.”
