My friend and singing partner, Karl Olsen

Thought I would take a moment and talk a little bit about my friend and singing partner, Karl Olsen. In the last 42 years there have been a few-seven to be exact-changes in personnel in The Brothers Four beginning with my replacing Mike Kirkland in 1969. This was after nearly 10 years of the original guys-Mike, Bob Flick, John Paine, and Dick Foley-traveling the world and creating the sound and the legacy of the group. You are likely familiar with Bob Flick who remains part of the group and Mike McCoy who joined in 2004. Karl Olsen became a member in 2008. His superb musicianship and singing ability add lots. His gentle spirit and true heart bring a special quality both on and off stage. I told Bob that I think that-with our love of the music and our affection for each other-the group has returned to the spirit of those first years. Karl is a big part of that. The picture is from a festival at the Olympic Stadium in Seoul, South Korea. The song Karl is singing here is one of Don McLean’s who also performed at the festival.  It and 20 more songs are available on Karl's solo CD, "This Love."  Send me an e-mail and I will tell you how you can order a copy.
