Love Abides

As a songwriter my goal is to write songs that share my story and/or my truth. My goal is to do it well enough so it may also shine a light on others' stories, lives, and truths. When I turned 21 in March of 1968 I was filled with faith. The months that followed were times that tested my personal faith as well as that of our country. It would be much later before I realized how much faith I had lost during those times, including and maybe especially faith in myself. In time faith returned, tested and tempered.  

These days faith in our country, each other, and ourselves is again being tested. How easily we share grievances yet how reluctantly we offer or receive grace. How easy it appears to continue to call on and welcome our "bitter angels." This song is a testament to my faith in what Abraham Lincoln referred to as our “better angels.” As this song states, “I think we’re gonna make it, but we’ve gotta believe.”
