Hate or Love?

Not many days ago I thought as a country and as a culture we might be arriving at a moment in time where it would no longer be the victims of sexual violence but sexual predators who would be shamed and need to feel ashamed. That was before our nation elected a candidate for President who dismisses predatory talk as simply locker room banter.

It is said that our endless campaigns have a way of revealing a candidate’s true character. In this case for our country’s sake I hope not.

This song is about a woman from Sarajevo whose husband was killed and who was herself brutally raped by her neighbor. After a baby is born as a result of that horrific act she tries desperately to give birth to her better angels.

God help her.
