Born with a Rambler’s Soul

Solo

“Born With a Rambler’s Soul” is a song I wrote in 1977. It was an important part of the repertoire back then. A professional photographer named Tom Upper took the photo at the Hindquarter in Northgate. Those were days when selling a song with extra passion came naturally. I realized through the years that I came from what might be called the “Faster Louder School of Music.” I have learned it can be important to “dial it back.” When I do it is easier for people listening to become part of the experience. It is also easier on the guitar and means fewer broken strings.
