Mark Pearson-singer, songwriter, storyteller

As someone who has faith in the power of stories and songs – who believes in the might, magic, and mystery of loving and being loved – and who trusts that together songs sung, stories told, and love shared can lead us home – I’d like to welcome you to “Songs and Stories from Home.”

In May of 2017 at Benaroya Hall in front of a lifetime of family and friends the final campfire for “One of Those Times in a Life” was lit. That evening represented the culmination of a six-year exploration of memory and discovery, of taking a lifetime of stories and telling the story of a lifetime, while using a lifetime of songs to create the soundtrack of that journey. Those campfires remain lit. You can find a map to them simply by clicking “One of Those Times in a Life.”

When I stepped off the stage that night I understood – believed - on some deep and profound level I had arrived “home.” It is with that faith that I will be exploring, discovering, creating, and sharing “Songs and Stories from Home.” You are invited and I would be delighted if you came along.

Dear Partner

Dear Partner,

Who would have thought or could have imagined in the fall of 1965 that two kids, one from Spokane and the other from Sumner, with football scholarships to the University of Washington, would today, at least figuratively, be sitting on that park bench Paul Simon wrote about all those years ago thinking indeed how terribly strange it is to be 70, or in our case in our 70’s.
