In 1980, with Mark's help, Mike McCoy decided to build a log cabin by Little Beaver Lake, with his friend's help. After painstakingly stacking the logs for the walls, they were installing large beams Mark accidentally fell through an uncovered stairwell opening, causing the entire structure to collapse. Miraculously, they were not seriously hurt, but the incident was shocking and frustrating. "Luck, love, and time" were obviously needed to persevere and rebuild the cabin, which eventually stood as a monument to their effort and friendship. They connected this theme to their shared experience in music and life, noting that success requires the same blend of effort, luck, and perseverance through difficult times.
